WHO IS CATAI?
CATAI is a wholesale travel company founded more than 40 years ago. Set up by Matilde Torres, the company has high quality standards and exacting requirements for its portfolio of suppliers and hotels that set it apart from the rest, guaranteeing an exquisite travel experience.
OUR CHALLENGE
Due to the success of the TravelPricer app on the Spanish market, the company began researching a launch on the Portuguese market. The high number of reservations made by Portuguese browsers through the Spanish website showed that this could be a lucrative market, with sufficient potential to justify establishing a local branch and translating the website into Portuguese. The page was static and didn't allow for dynamic pricing, which meant the agency or customer couldn't find out the total price. The idea was to localise the TravelPricer app, but this couldn't be done internally due to resources and time constraints. The aim was to present a functioning website, translated into Portuguese, at the International Tourism Fair, Fitur 2018.

QUICK WORK
It took just two months to complete the project, from sign off to presenting the fully functional web app in Portuguese, (including development, implementation, testing and training).
SIMPLICITY
The interface is so simple it can be used without any technical training - this means CATAI's technical department could distance itself completely from content management tasks, which the translation team manage.
SPEED
One concern was that it might not be as fast as the original website. Latency was added to compensate for the fact that the page makes requests to several sources (multi-supplier) to deliver quotes. Even with latency and the time the engine takes to display the pre-translation, the difference in load time is minimal.
